Defend skin from accelerated premature ageing with this daily defence serum, which targets the effects of external aggressors like pollution, UV light, and elements of our diet. Like a biomimetic shield on the skin's surface, it works on the inside to deter glycation—where harmful compounds are formed when protein or fat combine with sugar in the bloodstream. Knowing that this serum is formulated so well with an abundance amino acids and antioxidants, I feel super protected even when I am being naughty with my food. I’ve found it’s really helped reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as brighten and even out my skin tone. Best used in the morning after cleansing, it has a velvety texture that absorbs quickly, and is such a joy to use that I often have to control myself so as not to overuse it, although I would always recommend applying it to the neck and décolletage. When you think you have used the last pump, leave it for another day and you'll get the final little drops.

Cellderma GF5 Bio-Regenerative Growth Factor Serum

Designed to stimulate cell regeneration and improve skin elasticity through a blend of growth factors, this serum is particularly beneficial for those looking to target signs of ageing, like fine lines, wrinkles, and dull skin. It’s also great for anyone recovering from more aggressive treatments like microneedling, chemical peels, or laser. I love the GF5 for its unique approach to boosting skin health with growth factors, which can supercharge the skin’s repair and renewal processes. My patients and I notice a smoother, more radiant complexion with increased firmness after just a few weeks of consistent use. I recommended it to so many of my patients and it’s become a go-to for clients seeking that 'post-treatment glow, even without invasive procedures.

Alastin A-Luminate Brightening Serum

An absolute game-changer for anyone with pigmentation, this serum lightens and evens out skin tone. The gold standard for treating pigmentation has traditionally been four per cent hydroquinone, however, the active isn't always well tolerated. What’s exciting about this serum is that studies have shown that it not only matches the results of hydroquinone, but surpasses them after 12 weeks of use, without any of the side effects. Two pumps twice a day is all that’s required, and it can be used all year round. It can be used as a daily treatment to combat existing pigmentation, but is also great for using to prep and recover from in-clinic procedures that can trigger post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

ZO Skin Health Complex A+

With so many retinoid-based products on the market it can be tough to choose one, but this nightly treatment isn’t your run-of-the-mill retinol: it’s a powerhouse formula containing prescription-strength micro encapsulated retinol, combined with powerful antioxidants and an advanced delivery system designed to penetrate deep into the dermis and target areas that need it the most. Clinically proven to reverse the signs of ageing within 12 weeks of use, I’ve noticed how well it reduces lines and wrinkles, improves skin tone and texture, waves goodbye to pigmentation, and firms the skin.

Neostrata Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum

This serum lifts and firms the skin, while improving texture and hydration. It’s best for those experiencing slight sagging, loss of elasticity, and fine wrinkles. It works through a combination of amino acids, hyaluronic acid, and poly hydroxy acids (PHAs), which gently exfoliate while hydrating and plumping the skin. I love the instant effect it gives, particularly in terms of hydration and plumping. Over time, you see an improvement in skin firmness, a lifted appearance, and a more refined texture. Apply morning and night for maximum results, and make sure to follow up with sunscreen in the daytime, as PHAs can make skin more sensitive to sun exposure. It can also be used as a targeted treatment for specific areas of concern, which is how I currently use it—I pat it under my eyes and around my lips to ward off fine lines and keep these areas plump and hydrated.

Dermaquest Essential B5 Hydrating Serum

Combining mixed molecular weight hyaluronic acid with vitamin B5 and the brands' MDI complex, this serum strengthens the skin barrier for optimal moisture retention, which is important for every skin type and condition from oily and acne-prone, to dry and sensitive. I have found it particularly beneficial for those who struggle with a compromised skin barrier due to environmental factors or aggressive treatments. Over time, skin will look healthier, feel softer and retain moisture better throughout the day. In the morning, it helps to moisturise the skin and protect it from epidermal water loss during the day; in the evening, it serves as a moisturising base that prepares the skin for more aggressive creams such as retinols. If you are using other actives such as vitamin C or peptides, I recommend applying this first to ensure that your skin is hydrated and prepared to better absorb other active ingredients.

Senté Cysteamine HSA Pigment & Tone Corrector

This is designed to enhance the skin's immune response to inflammation—a key trigger for hyperpigmentation—while supporting a healthy skin barrier. It's a powerful solution for hyperpigmentation on the face and body. Suitable for all skin types, it's particularly beneficial for melasma—a chronic form of hyperpigmentation that requires ongoing care. When applied topically, cysteamine reduces the presence of cysteine, an amino acid involved in melanin production. By lowering cysteine levels, melanin is naturally decreased, promoting a more even and radiant skin tone. The product also tackles inflammation at its root, which is a must when it comes to keeping post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation at bay. I have melasma and used to rely on prescription-strength treatments, but this delivers great results and helps me maintain them, without the need for constant prescriptions. The best part is I can use it long-term—it has lightened the dark areas on my face without damaging my skin, boosted my confidence, and significantly reduced the amount of concealer I need to apply. Impressively, and unlike with hydroquinone, there is almost no risk of rebound hyperpigmentation. It can be applied at any time and you do not even have to wash the face, although if cleansing before application is required, wait for 20 minutes before applying. During the day, follow with a sunscreen containing a minimum of SPF30; for newbies or those with sensitive skin, apply every other day, advancing to daily as tolerated.
