Dr Greg Williams

Hair Transplant Surgeon

I am a Plastic Surgeon with a full time practice in Hair Restoration Surgery. I spent just under a decade as an NHS Consultant, during which time I was the Lead Clinician at London's only Burn Centre at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and the Clinical Director for Burns for the London and South East of England Burn Network. My interest in hair restoration started from the hair restoration needs of burn survivors – techniques used for this are the same as those for male and female pattern genetic hair loss and other alopecia conditions. I am involved in education and research, publish regularly and have been invited faculty at numerous national and international hair transplant surgery workshops and conferences. I am on the Board of Governors of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the Board of Directors of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, and have been the President of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery.

Specialism

I have almost two decades' experience in Hair Restoration surgery and have witnessed the evolution of the field, with significant advances in donor hair harvesting techniques. I offer both the Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) and Linear Strip Excision methods, and have experience with the robotic technology available. I am the only member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) who practices hair transplant surgery on a full-time basis. All patients have direct 24/7 access to me post-procedure so have the reassurance of a personalised approach to patient care. Patients who come to see me will receive an honest evaluation of their current hair loss, the potential for future progression and what surgical and non-surgical options are available to them. It is only by knowing the full range of options that patients can truly make the right choice for themselves on how best to address what can be a very emotionally distressing condition.
