Getting married? Here's your bridal aesthetics roadmap

This expert-approved aesthetics timeline will ensure you look nothing less than flawless on the big day

If you're due to walk down the aisle in the future, your schedule will most likely include trial hair and beauty appointments to ensure you're looking your best on the day. If you're also considering bridal aesthetics treatments, timing is key: you need to get organised as soon as possible, so a plan can be put in place to achieve your desired results.

"There has been a massive increase in brides getting treatments done before the big day, although what they're asking for has changed significantly," reveals Aesthetic Doctor and EV Expert Dr Ahmed El Muntasar from The Aesthetics Doctor clinic, London. "Everyone's wants this almost undetectable improvement, a 'you but on a good day,' rather than a huge noticeable change.

"Perhaps surprisingly, one of the most popular treatments is actually botulinum toxin for the armpits, because no one wants to have sweat patches against a white dress, especially due to the fact that a lot of deodorants, combined with heat and sweating and so on, can look a bit yellow against white fabric.

"Botulinum toxin injections effectively reduce sweat production by blocking nerve signals to the sweat glands. This anti-sweating treatment is a popular option due to its quick treatment time and minimal recovery period.

"The other thing we're doing a lot of is polynucleotides and skin boosters, as well as lasers. But with laser, we need to be very careful because we don't want it to be too harsh on the skin in the summer months."

As you can see, there are lots of options available for bridal aesthetics, from skin boosters to body toning. For guidance, take a look at Dr El Muntasar's roadmap below:

6–12 months before: begin your journey early

Kick off your bridal glow-up with a consultation and skin analysis—an advanced diagnostic tool can reveal what lies beneath the surface, allowing for a personalised plan to be created tailored to your skin’s needs.

Trial treatments first
Curious about botulinum toxin or dermal fillers? Try them 4–6 months before the big day. This trial period ensures there's time for results to wear off or be reversed, thus reducing any wedding day anxiety.

Treatments to consider
  • Mayfair Signature Facial – deeply detoxifying, hydrating, and nourishing (available at The Aesthetics Doctor clinic)
  • Blue Radiance Peel – smooths, refines, brightens uneven skin
  • Skin Boosters – target hydration, collagen and elastin production
  • EmSculpt – tone arms, glutes, abs, and more for your dress reveal

3-6 months before: refine and boost

If injectables aren’t for you, this is the perfect time to focus on rejuvenating, tech-forward treatments.

Glow enhancers
  • HydroMax – delivers deep dermal hydration
  • Polynucleotides – improve tone, elasticity, and radiance at a cellular level

Tech-driven skin rejuvenation
  • Harmony Bio-Boost Laser – combines ClearLift Pro and ClearSkin Pro to improve pigmentation, texture, and fine lines with minimal downtime

Non-invasive facial sculpting
  • EmFace – lifts brows and cheekbones naturally using radio frequency and electromagnetic stimulation (minimum of 4 sessions recommended)

1–2 months before: perfect your timeline

Final touches for a flawless finish: schedule botulinum toxin 4–6 weeks before and any dermal filler 8 weeks ahead of the big day. This allows results to settle, leaving a soft, fresh-faced glow that photographs beautifully.

Glow-up refinement
  • Top up hydration with a final skin booster session
  • Add a final facial or peel to polish and prep

Think beyond the face
  • Underarm botulinum toxin reduces excessive sweating, making it perfect for white dresses—no deodorant transfer or underarm stains in photos

Final month: keep it clear

Avoid introducing new treatments in the final month. While tempting, last-minute procedures can risk unexpected reactions and there’s little time for fixes. Stick to tried-and-tested routines to stay calm and camera-ready.
